BIOTHANE®: You will quickly find that this material is difficult to adjust--before you curse and call us, try any kind of oil (spit on it if nothing else is available). After some use, you will find the material easier to work with. You can throw it in your washing machine or dishwasher (top rack only...bottom rack is too hot) or simply sponge or hose it off and forget it. We use all solid brass hardware, so it won't rust. If you need to punch more holes or cut off excess material, be sure to heat seal the raw edges (we use a soldering iron, but a hot nail for the holes or a match flame will do). Check your equipment regularly. If you see any evidence of peeling or any sign of the nylon interior, heat seal it BEFORE it becomes a problem. This prevents moisture from getting under the urethane coating and causing separation of the material. This material does not get stiff when cold and will not crack or peal. We guarantee the material for one year, so save your receipt and if you have problems, call first and let us know so we can best advise you. BioThane® will form to your horse after use and should last a long time. ENJOY!!!

BETA BioThane®: Looks and feels like leather. It is softer and abrades easier. It is tough and strong, like leather, but not as hardy as the regular BioThane®. Do not expose to extreme heat or open flames. This will melt quicker than regular BioThane®.

POLY: We use polypropylene webbing instead of nylon because it gets softer with use, not stiffer. Easily machine washable: put in dryer or hang up to dry. No special washing instructions. Hot or cold water okay. But, if you don't wash it periodically, salt on the hardware will cause corrosion and hence wear out your tack. Again, if you need to punch holes or shorten, be sure to heat seal the edges to prevent unraveling of the material.

CORDURA NYLON AND VINYL-BACKED POLYESTER: This material is urethane backed, so hot water washing is NOT recommended. Cold water machine wash and hang to dry, or use low setting on dryer. Because of the backing, the material does not breathe (hence it is almost waterproof), but can cause your horse to sweat in warm weather if placed next to his skin. This material will not fray. Waterproof backing may wear off in time.
