Those of you who have come in contact with me over the last few years know that after 28 years in business, I would like to retire. I am therefore starting the search for the right person(s) to take over where I will leave off.
The business has given me ample finances to travel around the country and can do even more with someone who knows and loves the endurance crowd.
Included are:
1. Mail order sales (catalogues mailed out to many rides along
with donations) Color catalogue designed and printed annually.
2. Internet sales (a big percentage of our sales). A complete
well-integrated site with user changable options. Monthly fees
and merchant accounts are transferrable.
3. Ride Sales (another big percentage of our sales) (You
may want to buy our rig, too!!)
4. Wholesale sales (many endurance shops all over Europe)
5. Possibly the rig I have been driving around the USA
6. An ample raw material and finished goods inventory and all
the necessary equipment to maintain a functioning business.
7. Records maintained in Quickbooks since 2001.
8. A comprehensive list of our suppliers.
9. Assistance (if desired) in doing trade shows in the USA and
overseas.
10. Support from me for at least a year.
Manufacturing:
We have maintained a small shop (leased) based in Ohio with one
great employee who sews all of the BioThane products (and some
others) and ships all non-ride orders as well as handling repairs.
She has been with us more than 5 years and is completely reliable
and trustworthy. The shop is rented and the employee is paid by
the hour.
Some of our products are manufactured by others (made to our specifications,)
others are simply purchased for resale.
Our philosophy:
1. To sell what the riders want and ask for.
2. To listen to and watch riders and find products that will make
their job easier or better.
3. To provide FAST service.
4. To provide a prompt repair service.
5. To give prompt attention to returns and exchanges.
What I require in a potential buyer:
1. Honesty and openness
2. A promise to carry on, perhaps expand the business.
3. Good credit (I will not finance the sale, but will require
a "promissory" from a lending bank)
