THE ROCK & THE CEMETARY

I have a fascination as well with cemetaries. Their history tells me much. Husbands, wives, children....they died in serving their country, either in battle, service or by plague. The gravestones themselves tell the story. We wanted, of course, to get on top pof the rock. As you noticed, this is a high tourism area and they are prepared. But the cable car to the top had a 45 minute wait and a local "guide" took 6 of us (for 25 Euros each) on a 2 hour tour. He drove is up roads so narrow, even his mini van had to make 3 point turns on the switchback road. SO glad we did not consider driving here!!
