The View from our Hotel
WE went to sleep with the local teenagers and their
boomboxes (ear plugs sure made a difference). We awoke to a rooster
crowing every morning and witthout the earplugs, would had stayed
awake for his "announcements" all during the full moon.
While we were there, various Europeans came and went.
We got back every night, late, and were greeted
by a nice older gentleman who, though he spoke not a word of English,
managed to show us how to turn on lights and give us the name
of his dog, who we think more owned him than he owned her.
A circus came and went over one weekend, complete
with camels. Donkeys brayed and horseback riders assembled to
ride the countryside.
