National Park

Photos through windshields aren't ideal, but sometimes the quickest way to snap a "moment"... this is one of several riders we encountered on our drive.

My apologies for the windshield again.... This is the small charming town of Algar.

As in every town we saw, the history is at the center, complete with whitewash homes and narrow streets and the ever present "Cruzcampo" signs of small cafes, taverns and restaurants. The newer and more modern (and more expensive) homes expanded outward from the city center. Most of these small towns boast only 1000 to 5000 residents, some even smaller.

Above is a shot of downtown Ubique. Tucked in a valley among the mountains, but by no means small, it must have been a stopping point for many travelers for many centuries as the main streets are wide and inviting, until you take a wrong turn.
