Westward ho! -2000
Every year for the past ten years, we make our annual trek to the AERC Convention. We drive because we have too much stuff to ship (over 7,000 pounds of inventory) and because we enjoy exploring America. We take a different route as often as we can.
This year, we made a very quick trip to Wichita, KS for the Equifest 3rd Annual Trade Show. From there, we drove as swiftly as possible (not very swift with strong headwinds) westwards through Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and into Nevada via Las Vegas (at night - quite a sight!) and up to Reno.
Since we have seen the only major highway between Las Vegas and Reno (I-95) many times, we did not stop to take pictures until after the AERC Convention. From Reno, we decided to journey northwards to Kalispell, MT. Home of Glacier National Park and wonderful mountain settings, it is the place we think we would like to settle in. In fact, we secured a Montana residence and have already started to transfer our lives to this spectacular location.
Our trip starts with a long-awaited side trip to Ruby Valley, south of Wells in northern Nevada (this page).
